In London you find several large international airports, and the tertiary one is Stansted Airport. The airport is located about 68 kilometers northeast of the central parts of London, and is the base for a number of low-cost carriers. One of the main carriers at the airport is Ryanair, which operates thousands of flights out of Stansted every month.
At Stansted you find one passenger terminal that is divided into several different parts, with check-in in one of them, departures in another and arrivals in a third. The gates are found in separate concourses – check out the map on the top of the page to find the location of each gate.
If you are looking to spend the night at or close to Stansted Airport, there are a couple of hotels to choose from. You find one hotel on each side of the main building, and there are also several hotels located a little further from the airport from which you can reach the airport through shuttle service.
As previously mentioned, Stansted is located outside the central parts of the British capital, meaning a bit of transportation is required to get here. There are a number of different options to choose from found at the airport, where the most convenient one probably being the Stansted Express trains. The train runs every 15 minutes.
If you prefer, you can also reach London by bus. A third option is to rent a car – several rental car agencies are found just southwest of the main building at the airport.
At Stansted there are both long-, mid- and short stay options when it comes to parking. Parking is found all along the terminal building, making it easy to access.
