France is home to several large international airports that can be found among its major cities and metropolitan areas as well as many smaller airports that serve regional destinations throughout the countryside.
The two main airports in France are Paris Charles De Gaulle (CDG) and Paris Orly Airport (ORY). Both these airports are situated in close proximity to Paris, which is the capital of France and the nation’s largest city centre. Charles De Gaulle, which is the larger of the two airports, is situated to the north of downtown Paris, while Orly Airport is located on the south side of Paris.
If you are searching for an airport that conveniently serves the region associated with the French Riviera, a popular tourist spot for French vacationers, then you are likely going to be looking for Nice Côte d’Azur Airport (NCE) located along the south coast of France. Also located along the south shores of France is Marseille Provence Airport (MRS).
Basel Airport (BSL) is in a unique spot, located in the Alsace region of France, a short distance from its borders with Germany and Switzerland. This airport is jointly administered by the French and Switzerland authorities and serves the nearby cities of Basel, Switzerland, Mulhouse, France and Freiburg, Germany.
In central France, you will find Lyon Airport (LYS) located just southeast of the Lyon metropolitan area. Serving the southwest region of France are Toulouse-Blagnac (TLS) and Bordeaux-Mérignac (BOD) while Nantes Airport (NTE) is responsible for serving the western part of France. Located to the north of Paris is Beauvais-Tillé (BVA).
All the airports highlighted in the map are offering many flights and routes to international destinations throughout the globe. Of these airports, Charles De Gaulle (CDG), Paris Orly (ORY), Côte d’Azur (NCE), Lyon Airport (LYS) and Marseille Provence Airport (MRS) are among those with the strongest reputations for servicing international travel.
