The busiest airport in Japan is Haneda Airport (HND) which is located in Ōta, Tokyo. In fact, this airport is among the busiest airports anywhere in the world. Also known by many as Tokyo International Airport (Haneda) it is responsible for handling both domestic and international flights. Flights served range from destinations in North America, to Europe, Australia, New Zealand, China and many parts of Southeast Asia.
Ōta is a city in Gunma Prefecture, in Japan. It can be found in the northern region of Kanto, about 100 kilometres northwest of Tokyo. Travelers can reach Ōta from Tokyo by train, taxi or personal automobile. The travel time is approximately 15-30 minutes depending on which method you choose.
The main international airport in Japan is Narita International Airport Tokyo (NRT). It is located in the city of Narita, within the Chiba Prefecture of Japan. This is about 70 kilometres to the northeast of Tokyo. Narita Airport offers even more flights to international destinations than Haneda Airport. Travelers can expect to book flights to and from destinations throughout North America, Europe, the Middle East, Oceania and Asia.

As a nation, Japan is well-connected by an extensive high-speed rail network including the Shinkansen (Bullet Train) which is capable of providing excellent routes and connections between its major cities and airports.
Still, Nagoya Airport (NGO) and Kansai Airport (KIX) provide significant hubs for international air travel in Japan as well as for servicing domestic air travel needs. Meanwhile, Osaka Airport (ITM) is responsible for handling domestic flights in the Kansai region, as is the case with Sapporo Airport (CTS) to the north, and Kagoshima Airport (KOJ) and Fukuoka Airport (FUK) to the southside of the country.
