Josep Tarradellas Barcelona–El Prat Airport (BCN) is an international airport located 15km (9.3mi) southwest of Barcelona. It is the second largest airport in Spain, and the busiest international airport in the Catalonia region. It is a hub for airlines Level and Vueling, and is a focus city of Air Europa, Iberia, EasyJet and Ryanair.

The airport has two terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.

Terminal 1 is the newer of the two terminals.

It is located on the west side of the airport and consists of 5 Modules:

Module A handles flights to Madrid.

Module B handles Schengen flights.

Module C handles Air Nostrum flights.

Module D handles non-Schengen European flights.

Module E handles non-Schengen, non-European flights.

Terminal 2 is the older of the two terminals. 

It is located on the north side of the airport and consists of three sections, Terminal 2A, 2B, and 2C.

Terminal 2A primarily uses Gates U for Schengen destinations and uses Gates W and Y for non-Schengen destinations.

Terminal 2B primarily is used by Ryanair and Transavia.

Terminal 2C primarily uses Gates M for flights to the UK and other non-Schengen destinations and uses Gates R for flights within the Schengen area.

Free shuttle buses operate between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.

Dining, shops and amenities at the airport

Barcelona El Prat Airport has a variety of dining options located conveniently before and after security. These include:

The airport also also offers travelers several VIP lounges to choose from. There are three lounges located in Terminal 1 and one located in Terminal 2.

Other amenities at the airport include a virtual Food to Fly service. This allows guests to place their food and drink order ahead of time and pick it up without having to queue in line at the airport.

Rail: Several rail services operate from the airport.

Rodalies Barcelona commuter train:

• Line R2 runs every 30 minutes towards Macanet-Massanes.
• Services run out of Terminal 2 (Level 0).
• Connections with Barcelona Metro.
• Connections with national and international high speed rail services.
• 24-hour shuttle bus is available for transfers between terminals.

Barcelona Metro:

• Line 9 links the airport to Barcelona by underground metro.
• Makes stops at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
• Aeroport T1 station is located underneath Terminal 1 (Level 0).
• Services run out of Terminal 2 (Level 0).
• 24-hour shuttle bus is available for transfers between terminals.

Bus: Several bus services operate from the airport:

• Aerobus A1 connects Terminal 1 with Barcelona city centre, includes stops en route.
• Intercity buses operate from Terminal 1, Floor 0, near Arrivals.
• International buses connect to several towns in France, and Geneva, Switzerland.
• Coach services operate at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 to select cities.
• Hotel shuttle buses run from Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
• 24-hour shuttle bus is available to connect rail travelers from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2.

Car rental: Services are available in Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. These locations can be identified using our map at the top of this page.

Taxi: The only official taxi in Barcelona is black and yellow. Taxi ranks are located in front of the arrivals area of:

• Terminal 1 (Level 0)
• Terminal 2A
• Terminal 2B
• Terminal 2C
